TOPICS OF THE MONTH

Leader in me: The students will be continuing to focus on Habit #6 Synergize. be focusing on how to work together and reflect on their previous show.
Reading Workshop: In unit 6, the students will be learning about illustration and text features. This will help them better understand fiction and nonfiction texts. They will be focusing on the illustration to help them understand more about the text, match pictures to the words and revisit the text features.
Writing Workshop: Students will be focusing on informational pieces. They will continue practice writing twin sentences, introducations, ending and facts about a specific topic independently.
Science: In unit 4, students will be learning about light and sound. They will be observing how sound and vibration are related, relationships between them, gather evidence about volume and pitch, analyze wave properties and how light helps us see and travel.
Math: As the school year comes to an end, the students will be learning about measurement and graphing (bar graphs, picture graphs and tally charts).
